This painting was done for my final year project in school, a documentary about the darker side of faith. I spent way too many hours on this one =\
Anyway, for those not familiar with history, these are the crusaders - medieval men blinded by faith and promise who sought salvation in the holy lands through arms and conquest. In this picture they are about to embark upon one such crusade.

My first thought about this is that it's very cinematic. Whether or not that's a good thing is up to your intent. I enjoy your painting technique, particularly on the main figure. The almost-monochrome works well, too.
